Are You White-Christian-Heterosexual? If You Said No to One Then Say Yes to Obama.

In email after email from my family and other McCain/Palin supporters they have mentioned Obama and alleged links to terrorists. Over and over again I have linked them proofs to the contrary about Obama being allegedly Socialist/Terrorist. In response I generally get the same thing which is that if he has these friends he has the potential to be just like they are/were at any point in time. But somehow the links that Palin and McCain have are not subject to the same questions and scrutiny. If potential intent and purposeful distancing from links to bad people is a part of the picture for Obama why is it not thesame for Mccain/Palin?

It seems when the exact same questions come up regarding Palin and McCain I am told by McCain/Palin supporters that intent is not the same as action. I hear all about the subject of intent basically saying that because Palin has not committed actual book burnings, or witch hunts that people are suspecting she would do or support, that it isn't valid to question it. It seems extremely hypocritical to me because they are basically saying that if Obama has potential ill intent and has never acted on it he's a terrorrist and could snap into terrorist mode at any minute, but Palin who though she has never pushed the issues directly, has been linked to many religious extremists and even takes part in a"spiritual warfare" program which has been known to support witch-hunting and other extreme activities and beliefs - should not be questioned because her intent or our guesses at her intent are all of a sudden not an issue.

Look people however much we want to pretend or ignore this fact because we are Christians ourselves - Christians have been linked to equally as much terrorism around the world throughout history as Islam has. (before bugging out look it up and see how many countries we Americans alone have hopped over to in order to bomb the shit out of some "heathen" country and look at what was said at that time in history by people on our side and you'll likely find a bunch of stuff about God's will) Our own American history within our own soil shows a lot of death and murder in the name of Christianity and manifest destiny of those who are Christian. It has crossed over our borders and been committed further by us and other countries as well in the name of Christianity and God's will. Yet because we are Christian we think it's God's will, but when we hear someone from Islam saying the same things all of a sudden it's terrorism.

The reason I bring this up is because Palin's links are not just to your average small town American Christian - they are instead links to what even many of those average Christians consider an extreme sect of Pentecostals. Does that worry me? Hell yes!!! Because I don't want my freedoms taken from me or someone else based on any religion as I believe my journey with God to be my own and that's it. I don't feel like me being governed by some Christian extremist version of Christianity is any different than women in Islamic countries allegedly being forced to wear burkhas and walk 10 steps behind men they were forced to marry, and then if they are raped on the way to the market or work get killed for associating with a man other than their husband.

Should I wonder whether good Christian people would do such violent and offensive things? Yes. For evidence please refer to the Salem witch hunts, where women who thought for themselves were burned at the stake for going against the orders of doctors, preachers or other men in power, or to our history with American Indians who were violently killed and victims of biological terrorism in the form of smallpox on blankets just for the acquisition of property and because they were not Christian and therefore because they were barbaric pagans they were expendable or non important as human beings. And when you're done with that take a look at slavery and after slavery the Jim Crow laws and the black codes that prevented freedom and condoned lynchings for another 100 years as we all pretended black people were really free even though they couldn't get a paycheck accept once a year (if they were lucky) and they couldn't go anywhere unless it had a sign on it that didn't say whites only.

Do I doubt that I could fall victim to this one day because I think for myself, am independent, don't choose or need a man to make me whole, don't use todays medicine and choose instead to use traditional medicine (the same natural medicine that was used by the women burned in Salem by the way), have friends who practice religions other than Christianity, have attended some of their services, have friends from Pakistan, India, China, Korea, Iran, Afghanistan, Turkey, Israel etc. No I don't doubt it. Only within the last few years have people of middle eastern descent and their friends been imprisoned without access to attourneys and habeas corpus and due process of the law while their homes and families were lost because they could no longer take care of them or work to pay for them. Only 60 or so years ago were Japanese people put into internment camps because they were suspect all of a sudden during WWII. Only about 80 or so years ago did Greek people have barely more rights than black people because legally they were not considered officially white at that time.

This history would not make me nervous what so ever if I was like some of you who fit every single category that has protected people in our country from murder, lynchings, unconstitutional means of punishment, torture, imprisonment and persecution for years (ie. white, heterosexual, Christian, believes in marriage etc.). Because I am different I risk being put through any sort of attrocity that someone who is linked to and has hired extreme Christians thinks up in their perfect little Christian heads. It is scary if you don't fit the mold and know America's history (even in the last decade) to imagine you could be next just like it is scary for you white, heterosexual Christians to look at the history of alleged terrorists or extremists linked to Obama and think we could be victim to whatever thing they think up. But apparently according to those McCain/Palin supporters who email me only Obamas potential intent matters and Palin's does not have any need to be questioned. And why is that?... I have one phrase for you - Christian vs. Muslim. hmmm it is clear that extremist Christians are ok in all of their minds, but for some reason we're supposed to be afraid of those who would challenge America on it's horrendous history or challenge Christians on their own terrorist natures. All I can think to do is to make an introduction... Pot meet Kettle you are both black as tar have fun looking at yourselves in the mirror.

It has been proven that neither of them (Obama/Palin) are guilty of anything but association with these extremists other than the fact that Palin has been caught on tape knodding in agreement with these extremists and both have hired them and Obama has written forwards in their books while Palin has worn their buttons in support of them when they traveled through town etc. (writing forwards in books of people whom you've never met is common practice by the way - I have many published friends who were hired or asked by Barnes and Noble and many other major companies to write forwards and endorsements in and about the books and people whom they have never met- It's kinda like endorsing a guy whose been in the military because you have been there too it's done all the time - or just because he was in the military even if you have never served)

And by the way the same rules go for McCain. I have lists and lists of things (like links to economic terrorists and convicted felons and drug addicted theives) that I have emailed his supporters in email responses. I have researched these things and even though McCain has been friends with these people to the point of using his government positions to do favors for them and making them the godparents of his children when he has been asked about them he has minimized his relationship with them and acted as if they were not close at all. If I was Duke Tully I would have been offended at McCain's comments after he was questioned about my mistakes because it was as if he cared nothing about the guy even though he made him the godparent of his kid at one point in time. So McCain is a guy who will omit someone from his life and pretend he is and was not close to them when the egg hits the pan and things get hot. To me it appears that either he was close friends with these people like has been proven or that he pretended to be friends with them as long as they were of use to him and then dropped them as soon as they became harmful to him or his image instead. Either way it is questionable whether he's just a liar (ie. his denial of close relationships with these people) or a user and a liar (because he pretended to be friends with them so he could benefit from) none of it is good when you look at it without clouded vision.

And before you consider saying how Obama's friends and McCain's friends are soooooo different because Obama's are extremist terrorists remember that physical terrorism though it is more talked about and attractive for the masses to look at it is not the only kind of terrorism. There is also economic terrorism which has affected many a country and individual through things like sanctions and harmed just as many and has been enacted in our own country as well against those who could not and would not conform. (hmmm sounds kinda like what McCain supporters would call socialism to me).

Terrorists in general are people who are narcissists and therefore cannot figure out why someone would be so offended or see them as bad because in their minds they are doing the right thing and anyone who disagrees is simply stupid and to hard headed to see that the actions are for their own good. In addition to this mentality they believe that they are so smart that everyone should listen to them and give them privileges and believe what they say and therefore they see nothing wrong with themselves acquiring power for themselves in the form of property, money, and leadership roles. (sound like anyone you know of) This fits both violent forms of terrorists as well as those who acquire their power through the oppression and control of others economically. Palin is too close in link to people whose types have long been known throughout history to commit terrorism against others via religious narcissism, religious terrorism, religious socialism and McCain has been linked to those and even helped those who have committed economic terrorism against Americans and individuals alike. Combine these two and you have a dangerous combination of people who will and have purposefully benefitted financially and with special favors only those who agree with them and/or who believe that Christians are worthy while everyone else is a witch or demon deserving of whatever may come in the war of the spirit via "spiritual warfare."

Add this to the list of things that Palin has spoken against with regards to the funding of science and you have a scary picture of what the future could entail on your hands. I agree with people who feel that science should have clear separations of what is fact and what is still being challenged and has not yet been completely proven. I agree with them that there is nothing wrong with creationism being studied and investigated in schools for what it is separate from science/evolution (not instead of) as well to see what is/can be proven as fact. I would add though that we should include ALL creationism theory and not just Christian because science has proven some Pagan, Buddhist, Islamic etc. theories correct just like it has done in Christianity and evolution sciences and if we include ALL of the ingredients perhaps we will have a more true picture instead of one that is just Christian or just Science/evolution.

But I am not for someone like Palin who has spoken against the funding of science on multiple occasions - just in the last week or two she spoke against the funding for fruit fly research which has actually advanced us immensely in medical science and has saved us from much of what could and would potentially be done via stem cell research instead.

It was on a "Friday when at a speech in Pittsburgh, Gov. Palin denounced wasteful expenditure on fruit-fly research, adding for good measure that some of this research took place "in Paris, France" and winding up with a folksy "I kid you not." It was 1933 when Thomas Hunt Morgan won a Nobel Prize for showing that genes are passed on by way of chromosomes. The experimental creature that he employed in the making of this great discovery was the fruit fly. Scientists of various sorts continue to find it a very useful resource, since it can be easily and plentifully "cultured" in a laboratory, has a very short generation time, and displays a great variety of mutation. This makes it useful in studying disease, and since Gov. Palin was in part in Pittsburgh to talk about her signature "issue" of disability and special needs, she might have had some researcher tell her that there is a Drosophila (scientific name for fruit fly)-based center for research into autism at the University of North Carolina. The fruit fly can also be a menace to American agriculture, so any financing of research into its habits and mutations is money well spent. It's especially ridiculous and unfortunate that the governor chose to make such a fool of herself in Pittsburgh, a great city that remade itself after the decline of coal and steel into a center of high-tech medical research.

John McCain has mad repeated use of anti-waste anti-porkbarrel spending ads and elaborated in his speeches about the expenditure of $3 million to study the DNA of grizzly bears in Montana was derided as "unbelievable." As an excellent article in the Feb 8, 2008 Scientific American pointed out, there is no way to enforce the Endangered Species Act without getting some sort of estimate of numbers, and the best way of tracking and tracing the elusive grizzly is by setting up barbed-wire-hair-snagging stations that painlessly take samples from the bears as they lumber by and then running the DNA samples through a laboratory. The cost is almost trivial compared with the importance of understanding this species, and I dare say, the project will yeild results in the measurement of other animal populations as well, but all McCain could do was be flippant and say that he wondered whether it was a "paternity" or a "criminal" issue that the Fish and Wildlife Service was investigating. (perhaps those really are the only things that he associates in his mind with DNA). They are both (McCain/Palin a couple of Philistines with extreme friends who are (dare I say it) linked to terrorist and extreme views that are anti-American in that they are against freedom and progress as well as against the ability of the average American to take care of themselves. (again my mind pops to the similarities to what McCain/Palin supporters call socialism where a government would distribute it's beliefs across the whole of it's people at the expense of freedom and individuality and use those beleifs to limit/control some while others benefit from doing basically nothing to deserve it, but because they fit a small few parameters they benefit). Religious socialists to me seem to be attempting to do two things: 1- create a heaven on earth for those who (according to them) are already following God's law; and 2- force and colonize the rest of the people into following their version of God's law as opposed to allowing people to travel their own spiritual path with God for themselves.

I am not voting for that. I have a relationship with God that THANK GOD is not controlled by the government's idea of Christian Euphoria - it doesn't always go as I wish it would and I learn and grow because of it every day to become closer and closer in my relationship with God which I love, and I feel sorry for those who would be victim of a dogmatic version of a religion that actually prevents them from having that relationship because they are too busy conforming to some earthly human's version of spirituality and euphoria. It's nuts in my opinion and I don't support it.

I would say to you if you have made it this far in my post that I hope you don't support it either. I hope that if you are different than those who are traditionally protected in this country you will not vote for those who would continue that oppression of others so that they may be protected. If you are a woman know that in the past and even now women have been oppressed at the hands of people like this sometimes at their own choosing as women like Palin have been known many a day to be more patriarchial and mysogenistic than many of the men in this country I hope you vote Obama. If you are a transexual, lesbian, gay, bisexual, s&m advocate, stripper, prostitute, madam, or don't support marriage or the Christian version of it etc. I hope you understand that there is potentially a stake waiting in the future for you somewhere if you vote for McCain/Palin. If you are not white I hope you have researched American history enough to know that the only people who can commit terrorist acts without being persecuted in this country are white and that as soon as someone non-white does something terroristic you may be put into a concentration camp or internment camp without due process of the law and I hope you vote for Obama. If you practice a religion other than Christianity please remember that you may be victim to the same as those of color and others have been if people like McCain and Palin are permitted to stay in power.

I support Obama in part because he is of color and accepting of others of color, because he understands women and is accepting of them even if they are highly successful and not in need of him, because he is supportive of the points of views of others who to many seem extreme even if he doesn't agree with them, because he is willing to listen to people and learn from them despite their backgrounds and points of view, because he understands America's history and it's willingness to take away money from those who have less and give it to those who have more like a twisted backward version of robin hood, because he understands that if I give my money to the guy who already has a bunch and runs the business that I work for that it will not trickle back down to me. Ultimately what I am trying to say is that Obama supports diversity of all and oppression of none at the cost of the others from what I can tell. He says to me we are all in this together instead of we are in it alone or it's us against them. Is this socialist? I don't believe it is, but those who would support the oppression of others and the benefit of themselves would attempt to make you think it is so that they can continue to get away with an unregulated corporate sanctioned oppression of those who work for a living while those at the top doing nothing benefit.

Thanks to my friend Kelly who sent me the link to this video so I could post it on my blog. The video is of a homeless guy in Santa Barbara with his pets. They are seen on the street every week working the crowd for donations. The animals are clearly well fed and taken care of and they are all a pretty mellow bunch. The owner rigged a harness for the cat to sit on so that the cat wouldn't have to walk as much as the dog and the human and at some point the rat just began to tag along. It all worked out since no one wanted to eat anyone else for whatever reason. I think the Mayor of Santa Barbara filmed the clip for his Christmas card one year.

Support Your Local Farmer and Not The Worst Way of Farming

Hello All. I came across this article in the NY Times about "The Worst Way of Farming". Apparently there was a study done about farming and it was found that confined animal feeding operations are treating too many animals inhumanely and creating environmental threats, unacceptable health risks for workers, and the rest of us too. I have to say that I have recently seen some video footage of workers in a chicken factory that supplies KFC with it's chicken and I was appalled at the way they were dealing with the chickens. In the video there was a line of people at a counter where they were pulling chickens from some place on the counter and then at the hardest velocity they could muster with their strongest arm they would throw each chicken into a wall that was about 4 feet away from them. Some chickens were killed instantly thank God and others were flopping around broken and damaged. Later after the pile of dead and dying chickens got big enough people from the line would run through the pile and jump with all their weight on the pile of chickens. Even if the chickens were all dead I would think that this would be bad for the meat as far as it goes when I'm trying to eat it later. Anyway, I am not one of those dumb ass PETA people who thinks that meat makes you impotent despite the fact that we have managed to overproduce worldwide after eating billions of pounds of it on a daily basis. I am a farm kid from Oklahoma. I used to have to go get my own eggs for breakfast from right under the chicken's ass. I used to have to catch the chicken we would later eat and I learned to kill it humanely and quickly not like a cruel cold hearted asshole. I was taught that the animals on this planet were given to us by God and we hadn't ought to abuse them just because we can. As I grew up I came to know that the average person who kills animals just for the fun of it on a consistent basis eventually escalates their terror to humans. This is why I advocate the small individual farmer instead of these mass production facilities. I am from a small town farming family and I think that small town farmers have gotten screwed over by the government and our society as we have lessened our need for the small town farmer and increased our need for the mass production facility.

For those of you who are not into horse racing or the Kentucky Derby this video may or may not be pointless. I don't watch the Kentucky Derby or too many other horse races, but I grew up around horses and have a great love for them to some extent. I felt sad to hear that the second place finisher at this year's Kentucky Derby, Eight Belles, had died immediately after the race. Apparently, both the horses front ankles gave out and the horse went down after the race during the cool down. The horse had to be euthanized.

Great Story About Freedom - The Bald Eagle

Check out this great story of a man and a bald eagle both in need of rescue and healing. I copy/pasted the words below from an email I received.

Freedom and I have been together 10 years this summer. She came in as a baby in 1998?with two broken wings. Her left wing doesn't open all the way even after surgery, it was broken in 4 places. She's my baby.
When Freedom came in she could not stand. Both wings were broken, her left wing in 4 places. She was emaciated and covered in lice. We made the decision to give her a chance at life, so I took her to the vet's office.From then on, I was always around her. We had her in a huge dog carrier with the top off, and it was loaded up with shredded newspaper for her to lay in. I used to sit and talk to her, urging her to live, to fight; and she would lay there looking at me with those big brown eyes. We also had to tube feed her for weeks.
This went on for 4-6 weeks, and by then she still couldn't stand. It got to the point where the decision was made to euthanize her if she couldn't stand in a week. You know you don't want to cross that line between torture and rehab, and it looked like death was winning. She was going to be put down that Friday, and I was supposed to come in on that Thursday afternoon. I didn't want to go to the center that Thursday, because I couldn't bear the thought of her being euthanized; but I went anyway, and when I walked in everyone was grinning from ear to ear. I went immediately back to her dowl cage; and there she was, standing on her own, a big beautiful eagle. She was ready to live. I was just about in tears by then. That was a very good day.
We knew she could never fly, so the director asked me to glove train her. I got her used to the glove,and then to jesses, and we started doing education programs for schools in western Washington. We wound up in the newspapers, radio (believe it or not) and some TV. Miracle Pets even did a show about us.
In the spring of 2000, I was diagnosed with non-hodgkins lymphoma. I had stage 3, which is not good (one major organ plus everywhere), so I wound up doing 8 months of chemo. Lost the hair -the whole bit. I missed a lot of work. When I felt good enough, I would go to Sarvey and take Freedom out for walks. Freedom would also come to me in my dreams and help me fight the cancer. This happened time and time again.
Fast forward to November 2000, the day after Thanksgiving, I went in for my last checkup. I was told that if the cancer was not all gone after 8 rounds of chemo, then my last option was a stem cell transplant. ?Anyway, they did the tests; and I had to come back Monday for the results. I went in Monday, and I was told that all the cancer was gone. Yahoo!
So the first thing I did was get up to Sarvey and take the big girl out for a walk. It was misty and cold. I went to her flight and jessed her up, and we went out front to the top of the hill. I hadn't said a word to Freedom, but somehow she knew. She looked at me and wrapped both her wings around me to where I could feel them pressing in on my back (I was engulfed in eagle wings), and she touched my nose with her beak and stared into my eyes, and we just stood there like that for I don't know how long. That was a magic moment. We have been soul mates ever since she came in. This is a very special bird.
On a side note: I have had people who were sick come up to us when we are out, and Freedom has some kind of hold on them. I once had a guy who was terminal come up to us and I let him hold her. His knees just about buckled and he swore he could feel her power coarse through his body. I have so many stories like that.
I never forget the honor I have of being so close to such a magnificent spirit as Freedom's.

Help Include Pets In Being Protected Against Domestic Violence

Imagine a society where everyone -- including their pets -- is protected from abuse.

Each year, throughout Georgia, countless victims of domestic violence feel they have no choice but to remain in violent households to protect their defenseless pets from harm. Research has shown that up to 48 percent of domestic-violence victims remain in abusive homes out of concern for what might happen to their pets if they left them behind. Sadly, animals are not currently addressed in Georgia’s domestic-violence law.

Georgia House Bill 1242 addresses this issue. The bill would allow judges to include pets in domestic-violence protective orders -- legal orders that would require abusers to not come into contact with, harass or interfere with their victims’ animals.

We owe it to the countless domestic violence victims and survivors throughout Georgia to get this bill passed.

Please support this important legislation by asking Judiciary Non-Civil Committee Chairman David Ralston and Vice Chairman Robert Mumford to schedule HB 1242 for a committee vote and to vote in favor of the bill.

Best Friends Animal Sanctuary is a 3700 acre sanctuary that is covered by juniper trees and sagebrush, and surrounded by canyon and red rock formations, and is just one of the places that Mike Vick's abused dogs have found reprieve and kindness. Normally when "fighting" dogs are found or rescued it cannot really be classified as a rescue because the animals end up having to be euthanized. In this case there is a reprieve for Mike Vick's abused dogs. These scarred, broken-boned, over bred animals are finally in a better place while alive. It will take a long time to re-habilitate most of them and some have been deemed not able to rehabilitate and the judge has required them by law to stay at the sanctuary until their death. The most touching stories to me are those of "Georgia" and "Little Red" both of whom had their teeth either removed or filed so that they would not fight other dogs while being forceably bred or used as bait. Wow!!! For those of us in the human world who are lovers of animals this is a touching story. Good samaritans like this woman bring us to tears and show us that there are people out there with hearts who are willing to re-start the hearts of all living creatures if they can. A great display of compassion. The baby tiger was choking on a piece of meat as the German medical student was walking past the enclosure with her toddler son. The keeper who was feeding the baby tiger was helpless and at a loss as to what to do when the tiger began to choke and then shake and fall over and die. The medical student offered her assistance as soon as she saw what was going on and removed the piece of meat assessed the tiger to find it was not breathing and then gave it mouth to mouth and heart massage for 3-5 minutes and the little devil came back to life. Wonderful!! The zoo gave the woman a special ceremony for saving the tiger and named the tiger JoHann after the woman's toddler son.

'Soldier Bear' To Be Honored After Fighting In WWII

A bear named Voytek was adopted by Polish soldiers in the Middle East after they found him wandering the hills in 1943. The bear spent much of his life in Scotland after fighting in the war. He helped the troops carry ammunition to the Battle of Monte Cassino. He lived near Hutton in the Borders and ended his days at Edinburgh Zoo. The soldiers he was raised by adopted him after finding him wandering the hills and as he grew they trained him to carry heavy mortar rounds. When the Polish soldiers were deployed to Europe they could not just abandon him after training and raising him so they simply enlisted him and took him with them wherever they went. He was given a rank and number and then took part in the Italian Campaign. Soldiers who were stationed with him said he was easy to get along with, was not scary and that he liked to have a cigarette and a beer just like any man. He didn't move to the Edinburgh Zoo until the troops he was stationed with were demobilized. Some soldiers would visit him there and when they spoke Polish to him he still understood and would knod to them gesturing for a cigarette. A high school teacher is now writing a book about him.

Check out this link of a video featuring a turtle that can sit, stay, roll over, shake and do full sprints (at turtle speed of course) . I don't know how much time daily was spent teaching the turtle to perform these tasks but this guy must already be married because I can't see a single guy spending all his dating years training a turtle. Scientists in South Korea have cloned cats and altered their genes to make them glow various colors when exposed to ultraviolet lights. So these may be the new definition of what a true party animal is since they glow different colors under a black light. I never knew that there was a florescence protein gene that acts as a virus and causes glowing under ultraviolet lighting but apparently there is and these cats have been altered so that their genes contain this protein virus. According to the report the work done by these scientists to alter the genes of these cloned cats can help to unravel the mystery of nearly 250 genetic diseases shared by humans and cats and can also help to clone endangered tigers, leopards and other animals. For ethical reasons it is doubtful that these cats will ever be found in a pet store so no worries about Brittany Spears and Paris Hilton sporting glowing pets out at the clubs or in their "pseudo music" videos. There was a company called Genetic Savings & Clone (a cryogenic bank) that was selling cloned cats for upwards of $30,000 each but it has since gone out of the business of cloning. In California in 2004 glowing fish were banned back when they were the first transgenic pet. British scientists have injected jellyfish genes into chicken and pigs and last year Taiwanese scientists spawned glow-in-the dark pigs. It's all a scary thought and I would hate to imagine our future with glow-in-the dark genetically altered pets. Who knows how dangerous it is for the pets or the humans who hang out near them. I'd hate to have a wrestling match with my cat like I often do only to find that at night all the scratches and bites left on my arm are glowing and keeping me up at night. I may turn into the bionic woman only I could never go into stealth mode. We could tag sex offenders and criminals this way so you could find out whether your child has been messed with cause they glow when they come home. The list of crazy ideas goes on and on but lets not even consider any of the options for fear of opening up a virtual pandora's box of science ethics arguments.

Sparta The Cat Update

Here is a new update on our old friend Sparta. Sparta used to sleep in the sink in the bathroom and now he has moved to a new sleeping spot on the top of the toilet. So now he has moved his eating spot to the sink where he used to sleep. He is not doing as many videos cause his dad is busy paying the bills. His dad wants to find out about getting him neutered because he is scared that he may spray.

A Rare Breed Of Dogs With Two Noses

Check it out folks!!! There is a rare breed of dogs in the Andean Mountains of Bolivia which has two noses. It is an Andean Tiger Hound. They are used for hunting among other things and to no surprise have very good sniffing abilities. Who would have guessed? I know my girlfriend is glad she has only one nose as she works in a natural health store where many people don't believe in the use of deodorant or any other cleaning products apparently. The poor Andean Tiger Hound would have a hell of a time with the traditional dog greeting in this country I'm sure. The dog is believed to have derived from a breed that came from Spain during the time of the Conquistadors. Any way, check out the story for yourself and listen to the English explorer in the sound clip. He's quite a funny old chap if I do say so myself.

Helloooo World!!! It's me Chloe. Today the pet sitter got here around 315pm. It was hilarious because she didn't realize that the gate didn't automatically close behind her so she left it open. I ran right out and took a jog around the neighborhood. I loved it. Of course I had her sweating and so she called my dad and asked him where the leash was so she could come get me. At the same time she was calling I was walking up from my 15 minute outing tired and waiting at the gate. Hilarious!!!! I think I'm gonna try that on here again if I get the chance.

Today was great. The petsitter got here really really early and spent a whole hour with us. I think it was more than an hour actually cause she usually spends an hour and this time seemed longer. Another day in America. I have been in the kitchen all day long watching the news to figure out why the pet sitter may have left the door closed today to keep me from sniffing at the air outside. She said that there was a bunch of smoke outside relating to the fires in Florida but I don't believe her. She is known to exagerate so she won't have to open that door. The other day she told me it was 83 degrees and that she didn't want to waste my mom's electricity cooling off the outside.

Today the petsitter had me laughing. It was 10pm or later when she left and someone was blocking my mom's drive way with their car. She went to the neighbors house and asked her if it would be possible to make sure people park in the driveway of those they are visiting. It was soooo funny because the neighbor lady was sleeping at the time and her son was having company which is why there were cars all around the place. She came in mumbling something about how Quin wouldn't have a place to park and then he couldn't get in the driveway either. It was kind of funny. She really is annoyed by the neighbors over there. I can't say I disagree with her though. There is plenty of space in the driveway of the place they are visiting for them to park.

I have not had too much energy or time to write too much because I am now balancing life with a new young buddy. It's kinda fun. I'm getting used to her little by little now. I've decided not to hiss at her so much when she comes close to me. I've begun to just give her dirty looks and avoid her each time she comes near me. This seems to work pretty good. She seems to be ok with that. Maybe she doesn't realize she's being snubbed or maybe she doesn't care cause I'm letting her get closer to me now. Either way it's better when we get along cause I don't have to worry about her annoying me nearly as much.

Hello All! It's me again Sara Lou. I'm here to give you just a little snip of what has been happening in my life lately. I finally decided to let the pet sitter pick me up. It was exciting for her but I was kind of scared. She's kinda big so I wasn't sure if she was gonna squish me or not. She's so loveable with her talking to me I was thinking she may be loveable with her holding too. Maybe like that little girl from the cartoons who loves the animals too much and ends up squishing them. It all turned out ok in the end but I sure was nervous. That's why it didn't last too long before I had to launch an excape attempt.

Ok guys I'm still not in pictures yet. My pet sitter said she'd get some pics of me that I could post on line and now her camera is broken. She said she'd only had the thing for about 4 months. She got it as a gift from her step mom and now Canon wants all sorts of info in order for her to get it fixed. Unfortunately all of her things are in storage right now because of her recent move and so she doesn't have access to all the stuff she got with her camera. Life sucks. Who knows if she even has all that stuff still, and secondly who knew that her camera would break after only 4 months? Not saying much for the Canon SD600 is it?

Hello all. The petsitter got here at 7:30 this morning!! Doesn't she know it's Sunday? What the heck. It was kinda nice actually because she got here early enough that it was still cool outside which meant that she could leave the front door open with just the hook on the screen door so that we can sniff the air. I enjoyed it while she took care of business around the house. That is, of course, until Sara Lou came and tried to nose in on my air time while I was distracted getting my back scratched. I had to run at her and try to give her a big swat. Next time she won't get away. Now she's accusing me of launching a smear campaign against her on the internet just because I told everyone that I felt like I was living with Dr. Seuss. I meant it in a good way. wink wink. Oh well. She thinks she's gonna get me and the pet sitter back for this alleged smear campaign but little does she know we are both older and more experienced than she is in the art of sneakiness. Though I hope I get handicap points for having to work with the pet sitter. She's not so stealthy these days. Matter of fact you can hear her coming from a mile away. Those bi-pedal individuals have more weight on just two of their paws so it makes them have a hard time walking I think.

Hello All. I know it's been a while since you've seen my little blurry eyes and gotten to read about me and my life. I hope you didn't miss me too much I'd hate to put anyone in too much pain unless they are playing "bite the hand that feeds" with me. Usually the pet sitter is the only one who plays that game with me anyway. She sits in the chair and reclines it back all the way and then I come and sit on the little chair behind her in the dining room. She pulls her hand back like she wants to pet me and I bite at it. That is how I let her know that the game has begun. After that she will put her hand near me and pull it back. The contest is to see whether or not I can sink my teeth in before she pulls away. It's soooo fun!!!! Especially because I win nearly every time we play.

Sara Lou Who?

Hello All. As you can see I still don't have a picture on the site. Maybe it's because I'm just too elusive for the pet paparazzi to get me in action. I know it's hard to take pictures when you're holding a rope that I'm attacking. Oh well, that is one of my most successful distractions to the pet paparazzi. If I keep them mesmerized by my cuteness then I'm never gonna be caught on film. In the mean time I understand that there is a smear campaign against me on the Internet started by my room mate Winnie West. She's saying something about my name being Sara Lou Who and that she feels like we're in a Dr. Seuss book. I have a lot of patience but if she keeps going with the little smear campaign she's started..... Well let me just say "Oh the places she'll go" In the mean time it's something the pet sitter thinks is kinda funny. I've been ignoring her when she's tried to entice me with the "one fish, two fish" routine when handing me treats. Again we'll see how that goes. I'd hate for her to have to deal with the wrath of my new Mommy when she comes home to a house that looks like the "cat in the hat" has visited. Wish me luck my minions, wish me luck.

Hello all. It's Friday evening and I'm typing up my journal entry for the night. The pet sitter is here and letting me use the computer. She says if I type up my entry she'll publish it for me later on. I'm sort of bored lately. I have been sitting on my spot on the corner of the couch a lot. I don't know what to do with my self lately ever since Mary Lou died. Now there is the new little rascal in the house Sara Lou. I'm starting to feel like I'm in a Dr. Suess story or somthing with Wendy Lou Who. We'll see how it all goes. At least the pet sitter is here giving me all sorts of attention. She's been staying an hour each time she comes and so all is well. I'll leave you all until tomorrow and let you know if anything has changed in the wild life of Winnie.

Incompatible Pets

Check out this video. This is an example of incompatible pets. The people who made the video have cats and there is a turtle in the garden which stakes out his territory and chases them around the yard. He nips at them to make them leave his area and they run off with no real ability to fight back because he has a shell to protect himself. The poor cats just want to lounge around in the garden area and all their efforts to relax are thwarted by the turtle sentry of the back yard. It's kinda cute cause I've never seen such a bold turtle. He must have been a dog in a past life.

Hello Electronic World!! I'm the new little buddy that Winnie has. I moved into the house a few weeks ago and I've finally made myself right at home. I'm still not used to the pet sitter though. She bugs me out cause I'm not used to people being in here besides mom and her housemate who lives upstairs. I ignored the petsitter the first time she came to visit me when my mom was here because she scared me. I ran and hid under the bed. When the petsitter came by herself last night I ran off again and made sure I was no where to be seen. This morning on the other hand was a different story. I came out into the dining room and when she slowly walked into the room I ran off to the corner but I didn't leave all together because I wanted to see if she would do like my mom and play chase the rope with me. Of course she did!! These humans are so easily entertained. Well I guess that's all I have to say this morning. See ya next time. Maybe I'll get some pictures taken by then.

Hello All! It's been a while since you've heard from me. My mom has been busy so she hasn't made it out of town. First of all I should tell you about Mary Lou. She passed away from complications of elderliness and city veterinarians. I miss her a lot and so does my mom. Mom burried her next to Ms. Scarlett near the bedroom window so I could sit there and visit them when I wanted to. Mom stayed longer with me before traveling this time so I could get used to Mary Lou being gone. Eventually, she brought home a new little friend for me. My new friend is named Sara Lou. She's cute I guess but she has all sorts of issues because she was a little wild rescue cat. When she got here she had bad gingivitis breath, tapeworms, ear mites, and who knows what else. She's better now. She's little bitty compared to me and she's just a kitten. She was malnourished so we thought she was only about 6 months old but the vet's tell us she's actually a year old. I feel sorry for her but don't let her know that or it will ruin my image with her. I've been hissing now and then just to let her know I'm the boss.

Say Goodbye to Archie & Cosmo

Over the St. Patrick's Day weekend I had to say goodbye to Archie and Cosmo. They moved to Connecticut. Their mom had to go their for work. I was hired to fly to New York City with them to make sure they arrived there safely. Their mom and I took them on the plane as carry on and tucked them on the floor below our seats. It was stressful for all involved cause of course no one likes to move and I don't know too many cats that enjoy flying. It all worked out well in the end though. I got to have a whole day to myself in New York before leaving the next day and Coz and Archie's mom was GREAT enough to get me a hotel for the night and pay for all my food and taxi's. I was only 4 blocks from the World Trade Center site and I got to eat my first "real" New York Pizza fully equipped with garlic rolls. WOOOOO HOOOOOO for New York Pizza is all I have to say. Anyway I'll stop the rant for now.

Tiger Lily's Journal

Today was the first time in a long time that the pet sitter has come over. My mom has been home for a while now which is nice. Skye and I feel much better when mom is home. The pet sitter is great too though. She really loves us. She feeds us and pets us (when we let her) and she even cleans our litter box for us. Tonight she got here right around 6pm and then she left at 715 or so. She hung with us and made sure we ate and I had my eye meds. YUCK!!! No one likes having to have gooey stuff put in thier eyes. Of course, I'm just thankful to be able to see so I'm not complaining. Any way I posted my picture this time so you could all see how cute I am. I am a bit shy about my chubbiness but my pet sitter told me that I looked great so I decided to go ahead and put the picture up. The pet sitter and I played bite the hand tonight it was quite fun. I think I'll ask her to play it again with me tomorrow cause she didn't have time to do it for too long right before she left. Tonight the petsitter got her at 7pm. She came in all focused on getting all her tasks completed and then before she could hang out with us too much she jumped on the phone and talked with my mom. After that she got some other phone calls and so even though we got our food and everything and she was petting us she seemed distracted. I almost scratched her but I didn't since she said I may be able to go into the basement if my mom says it's ok. She pet me a bit before she left so I was happy. She also said she would hang with me a bit in the morning so that's good too.

The petsitter got her at 8 am this morning. I was surprised because she usually gets here between 9 and 10. I was glad to see her though because I had eaten all the food she left us last night and I was hungry. She came in and took care of everything and then hung out for a while I was happy about that. Tonight the pet sitter got here around 530 and we were happy to see her because we had already eaten all the food she left us this morning. She gave us even more tonight which will hopefully tide us over until tomorrow morning. We were definitely happy today because she stayed for a long time both times she came today. In the morning she was here for a little over an hour and then this evening she was here an hour too. So it worked out just right. She spent all sorts of time with Mary Lou this morning and then hung with me this evening. She's great. No other pet sitter hangs with us like she does. Most of them only spend 30 minutes and with us it takes that long just to do all the litter, water, food and meds duties. With a regular pet sitter we'd never get any love. Whew!! I don't even want to think about it.

The pet sitter was in and out this evening in a hurry. She told us earlier that her day was pretty booked up with clients so when she came she'd only be here for long enough to take care of her duties and then she'd be out. She also said she'd be here early and she definitely was. She got her around 5 which is early for her. She usually shows up between 6 and 7. She said she was sorry for not staying long and that tomorrow she'd be around for longer. She told me that maybe next week some time I could go to the basement if my mom said it was alright. Wish me luck I'm gonna be praying that my mom tells the pet sitter it's ok.

The pet sitter forgot to set her alarm this morning so we had to wake her up around 8 o'clock. When she got up she let us outside and then fed us when we came in. She doesn't understand why we don't just scarf up all our food at once. She looked all over for the gravy and couldn't find it so we just had dry food while she was here. Oh well life goes on. She left for a few hours this morning but came back a little after lunch and stayed until about 530. She said our family was going to be home around 6 so she wanted to be gone. The pet sitter came this morning around 10 or 1030. She gave me my meds and fed us. She replenished the water and scooped the litter boxes. I followed her around to make sure she did everything but I didn't have to admonish her like I normally do. She did pretty good with everything. She told me she'd be over earlier than normal in the evening so she'd probably have our roomie close the blinds for us. I'll remind him when he comes in so that he doesn't forget.

Hello All it's me Winnie. I'm lucky enough to get the computer privileges tonight. The petsitter got here on Friday and she got here later than normal. She was interviewed by the news people at CBS46 so she came in with a big smile on her face talking about how she would be on at 11. I wish my mom was here so she could check out our pet sitter on the news. I guess she was too excited about the whole situation cause she turned the TV off in the kitchen when she left so we couldn't watch her big debut. Oh well, maybe next time.

Hey guys it's me Lika. I know you haven't met me yet but this is your chance. Ok I'll tell you a little bit about myself. Let's see I'm a little over 2 feet tall, I have yellow/black furr, I love to roll in the grass and sing to people. Any way I'm writing in my first blog entry but I wasn't sure what to put so I described myself. The petsitter came last night and stayed the night with us. She is scared of the dolls in the house. She said that when kids aren't around dolls make her nervous. She took one of the dolls and made it face downward so that it wasn't looking at her all the time. She's funny. She kept saying something about Chucky. I don't know what she was talking about. We went on our walk today and when we got back the petsitter got mad at herself cause she forgot to get the mail from the mail box and she was too lazy to walk down the drive way to get it. She kept snuggling with us and going out to the back yard with us because she was afraid we were bored with her. She said that now that we have kids in our house that she's not the most exciting thing going on. She could be right I guess. Any way I guess that's all for today. Hello all. It's my first time blogging and I'm excited about it. This picture is of me getting my belly rubbed. I love it when the pet sitter rubs my belly. I hear that I'll be the most famous dog along with my sister Lika. That is aside from Rocky, Buddy and Edgar of course. They are the other dogs my petsitter lets use her computer and camera. I know it's mostly cats on this darn blog but I'm finally here to represent the Canine race. I'm ready to cover all the petsitter does in my little journal here. She showed up on Friday and was in and out like a flash. (not really that quick but it seemed quick to us) She was there long enough to let us out to go to the bathroom and then she headed out again. She said she had to make an appearance on CBS46 news. She was in a rush to get home and change into something decent enough to be seen on TV for. Last time she was on TV she was at our house. It was great. We got to see the camera guy follow her around while she watered plants.

Hello All. It's me Cosmo. I haven't been on the net for a while cause my mom has been staying home. Ahh how great it is when your mom is around all the time. I didn't realize how much I missed her till she started hanging around more often. I just wanted to check in and say hello and that all is fine with me today. I am told I may become famous now because the petsitter finally got a digital camera. She said her step mom and her dad got it for her but she knows it was probably her step mom's idea since she's the pro photographer in the family. Hello all. It's me Archie. I'm back. I know you missed me on the blog here but my mom hasn't gone out of town for a while so words from me have been in short supply. Mom's out of town this weekend with Hugo and Bea and their mom. We're sad to see them go. The petsitter was just whining about it earlier. She's a sap. Meet Mary Lou

This is Mary Lou. I will be taking care of her starting on Friday night. She has a cute little meow that sounds like a duck or something. Imagine a cat doing an impression of Donald Duck and that is what she sounds like. It's funny. She has gingivitis, kidney disease, frequent urinary tract infections, a bit of senility and who knows what else. She takes all sorts of medicine and like most of our worlds elderly she is heavily medicated. (She's elderly in cat years)

Pet Spa My Ass!!!

Watch this video. It is a "pet spa" allegedly. I don't know about you but when I go to the spa no one traps me in a washing machine without my knowledge and tries to drown me. I am exaggerating of course but this is not the machine to put your cat in. Please visit the website and protest this thing. What ever pet supplies store has this in it is in need of a little protest as well.

The video shows a cat being placed in the "spa" and then washed while it jumps and begs to be free from the whole event. The cat survives uninjured but I believe the machine is cruel. If you are too lazy to wash your animal then pay for a professional to do it please either that or deal with your animal the way he/she is stinky and all.

By the way cats don't need baths they wash themselves. Dogs are a different story all together-with them you have to pay attention to the breed or you'll cause all sorts of skin problems. For example Airdale Terriers should not be washed as often as some other dogs and so on.

Checking in with the fuzzy fans

Hello All. I wanted to drop a line and let you know that all is fine. I have not been on the blog since January 5th because life has been very busy. I have been fighting with my apartment management company to get them to perform maintenance for all of the tenants. They have not done any significant maintenance for 2 years now and when they slacked on performing my maintenance I got fed up and started a war. I first went around the entire complex and took pictures of every problem I could see. The worst of which was the sewage spewing from the back of our building and into the home-owner next door's yard. After that I went door to door in the complex notifying tenants of the goings on and asking them if they had any problems. All of them allowed me to inspect their apartments and take pictures of the problems. When that process is complete I am writing letters for all of the tenants requesting that the code enforcement officer come and inspect their apartments for problems. In the mean time I went to a city council meeting and let them know what was going on by giving them a 6 page typed report of the violations from half of the complex which totalled 177 or so violations. I have a couple of court cases to prepare for on Wednesday that I hope to help tenants win or at least get a continuance on. I am also doing lots and lots of taste testing trials for all the food samples I received. I will be publishing all of them when I am done. Some companies wanted you to know what their products were like and others didn't so I will be publishing that information as well. Thanks to all the companies who provided me samples and thanks to all of my clients who decided to let me feed your kitties and dogs all sorts of tasty samples. All of the furry friends are being cared for in the mean time. Samson and Delila, Tiger Lily and Skye, Winnie and Mary Lou are all doing just great. I will be getting back into the blogging again soon but I just wanted to check in so you all know I'm alive. By the way if any of you are interested Meridian Management Company is the company who I have launched a war against. The city mayor met with them on Friday because of the gravity of the information I've brought forward about them. This company is in Atlanta, GA so if you have renters as friends or are a renter yourself and you know this company give me info. If you do not then hope you never do.

The pet sitter came in this evening like always, fed us and then left for a spot with an internet connection. She said it would be more fun for us if we could connect at our house to do the diary entries cause as it is now we end up writing our entries out by paw and she has to go to Starbucks where they rip her off for an internet connection and make her pay 20 dollars a month for T-Mobile Hotspot. She said that she's gonna cancel her hotspot connection soon because it's a rip off and she can find another coffee shop that connects for free to wireless. She's probably going to be home soon because the coffee shop closes at 7pm which makes for another hassle for her with the internet connection. She said sometimes she hangs out with all the homeless guys outside the coffee shop and they watch You Tube videos after the coffee shop closes. I think that's a little on the weird side myself but whatever floats your boat. I told her that I didn't think that was a very safe thing to do. She told me that drifters are a pretty loyal bunch and if you make friends with them they won't hurt you or anything. In fact, she said that once you're friends with them they will even help protect you if you need it. I guess ruffians have a moral code too. I suppose I never thought about it that way. She said what ever you do don't let them into your vehicle. Not because they are dangerous necessarily but because they smell of urine and that is not a pleasant scent for your car to have. It's fine in the open air because you don't notice it when the wind is airing out their butts but as soon as you are in a closed space you are bound to smell it. She said that her cats tried to pee on her once after hanging out with the ruffians because they didn't recognize her. After she explained to them who she was and what she'd been doing they let her go and then she just hid her clothes from them. Too much drama for me. I'm sure glad my mom doesn't take in strays. I saw that movie "Lady and the Tramp" and it sort of scared me to imagine hanging with those ruffians. To me that's almosta horror flick. Whew!!! Glad I'm at the safe and secure home my mom provides me with catnip for days.

Tonight when the pet sitter got here she had some thing next to her ear and she was talking really loud at it. It was kind of scary so I didn't come from down stairs until I heard her get quiet. She eventually got our food ready and I came down to eat. When I finished eating I came to sniff her at the chair and she grabbed me up and put the goo in my eyes. I jumped down after that and ran off into the dining room to do my own thing. She's always putting that goo in my eyes and I hate it. It feels good in the end and I know that but I still don't get too much into the whole eye goo thing. Right now Stargate is on and the pet sitter is watching it while I type. She said that when Stargate Atlantis is over that she has to go take care of other kitties so I have to stop typing for now.
